Audition Information

This opportunity is open to all students ages 7 and up, You must be enrolled in being active in the following class.Vocal /Acting /Musical Theatre /Private Vocal Lessons. All who audition will be cast in a role based on their age and skill level. If your child is interested in this opportunity to perform in Cats the Musical, auditions will be held at: The Dance Pointe, 9353 E. 95th Court, Tulsa, OK 74133   Auditions will be held on May 14th, Please see below the times for specific roles.  There is a $30.00 audition fee per child. This pays for auditions, rehearsal time, costumes, choreographers, and props. The only cost to you will be the audition fee, undergarments, wig, and shoes. Other items are available to purchase but not required. This Musical requires a lot of parent cooperation and help regarding your performer's wig. We will have several classes and times to come in and learn how to make your child's wig. Every performer must have a wig for this show.    Auditions will be for certain Characters, if your performer does not receive the part the auditioned for they will be placed in another part that suits their talents.   Please be sure your performer has a current headshot, and acting resume. 

Dress code for auditions will be: 

                 Girls: Black one piece leotard, black booty shorts, tan tights and black jazz shoes, and               

                 hair must be neatly pulled away from the face. 

                  Boys: Black Dance tee (black compression shirt), Black tights or Jazz pants, black jazz 

                  shoes and hair must be styled.

 Age Requirements for specific Cats 

 Grizabella 15 and up, Bombalurina 15 and up, Demeter 15 and up, Jemima 7 and up,  Jennyanydots 7 and up, Munkustrap 15 and up,  Old Deuteronomy 15 and up, Skimbleshanks 7 and Up,  Growl Tiger 7 and up, Mungo Jerrie 7 and up,  Rumpleteazer 7 and up,  Rum Tum Tugger 11 and up,  Bustopher Jones 7 and up, Mr. Mistofolees 15 and up  Victoria 15 and up, Macavity 11 and up  Jellicle Cats 7 and up .    

Cats Audition Times  

                                Grizabella, Bombalurina, Demeter, Jemima, Jennyanydots 2-:2:30pm  

                                Munkustrap, Old Deuteronomy, Skimbleshanks, Growl Tiger 2:30-3:00pm                                                           

                                Mungo Jerry & Rumpleteazer, Rum Tum Tugger, Bustopher Jones 3:00-3:30pm

                                Mr. Mistofolees, Victoria, Macavity, Jellicle Cats 3:30-4:00pm 

 Each Performer must audition with the following songs for each group

 Grizabella, Bombalurina, Demeter, Jemima, Jennyanydots 2-:2:30pm  

 Memory - Elaine Paige as Grizabella, or Macavity the Mystery Cat  

 Munkustrap, Old Deuteronomy, Skimbleshanks, Growl Tiger 2:30-3:00pm 

 Old Deuteronomy, or Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat    

 Mungo Jerrie & Rumpleteazer, Rum Tum Tugger, Bustopher Jones 3:00-3:30pm 

 Mungojerrie & Rumpleteazer must be acrobatic/ tumbler, or  The Rum Tum Tugger  

 Mr. Mistofolees, Victoria, Macavity, Jellicle Cats 3:30-4:00pm 

 Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats 

Mr Mistofolees: This is a featured dancer and his signature move is the “conjuring turn” consisting of 24 consecutive fouettes. We want auditioners to complete a 30 second dance routine. We will also want to see leaps and fouettes 

Victoria: This is a featured dancer, and must have great leg extensions and a strong Ballet background.   

Jellicle cats are for all levels of dancers and singers. If you are unsure of a part to audition with jellicle cats is a great start. If you want to audition for two parts you will need to come at the correct audition time for each part.    August 21st will be the date of the show.
